UIHC AirCare3 is an air-medical rotor-wing helicopter serviced based at the Dubuque Regional Airport.
AirCare3, along with the partner bases, are available 24/7 to respond to inter-facility transports and on-scene emergencies in central and eastern Iowa as well as western Illinois with extended coverage capability into Wisconsin and Minnesota.
The AirCare3 team consists of a nurse-paramedic team and between the three bases, they complete more than 250 patient transports a year.
A CAMTs accredited service, it was the first hospital-based emergency air medical program in Iowa and one of the first 15 programs in the nation.
